1. Domestic water meters with AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) applications can assist water utilities, households, and department stores in accessing water data, replacing traditional manual reading operations.
2. Multiple water meters can connect to a single repeater, reducing communication and installation costs. All data will be sent back to the server system via either 4G or NB-IoT solutions and integrated with smart home systems or smart water management systems. Administrators and users can access and manage water data through laptops or apps.
3. The water meter has edge computing capabilities, which can detect abnormal water consumption behavior, saving backend server computing space. Even if a value is recorded every hour, it can detect water leaks or backflow conditions.
4. Currently, more than 30,000 households in Taiwan can access online water data, and smart metering solutions have been implemented in Vietnam and Thailand to effectively upgrade local water management and reduce rising leakage rates. By using smart metering, we can not only reduce the cost of supplying water but also conserve precious water resources, making smart water applications possible in many smart cities.
