Printing defects and cutting edge trims account for about 20% of the material. The waste generated in the Taiwanese market is approximately 1,000 to 1,400 tons, which needs to be disposed of by authorized contractors and incinerated. The transportation and disposal cost ranges from 7 to 10 NT/kg, and the incineration process generates carbon emissions of 3.4 to 3.8 kg CO2 per kg. The environmental impact of discarded plastic films is becoming increasingly severe, and the international focus on plastic pollution has heightened the market demand for recycling and reuse, presenting significant opportunities for the circular economy model. Trend Materials recycles shrink films by crushing them and then adding tougheners and chain extenders. The material is then processed using twin-screw equipment for melt blending, improving the impact strength and processing viscosity of the recycled polyester material.
